WOW! Balloons is a balloon decor company in Boston, Massachusetts, founded in 1990 by designer Mike Liberman. We design and install custom balloon decor for weddings, corporate events, grand openings, bar and bat mitzvahs, birthdays, baby showers, graduations and holiday events across Greater Boston, New England and New York City. Over more than 35 years we have worked on more than 2,000 events.
How We Started
The company began in 1990 as a flower shop. Large floral installations were beautiful but expensive, and many clients could not afford the scale they wanted. Balloons offered a way to build big, colorful decor for a fraction of the cost, and over time balloon design became the whole business. That background still shows in our work: we think about a room the way a florist does, in terms of color, shape and where the eye goes first.
Mike Liberman, Founder and Designer
Mike Liberman has been designing balloon decor for more than 35 years. He works with every client personally: he looks at the room, listens to what the couple, the planner or the company wants, and decides where balloon decor will make the biggest difference. Clients talk to the designer directly, not to a sales manager.
What We Do
We build arches, columns, garlands, balloon walls and photo backdrops, centerpieces, ceiling installations and large sculptural pieces. Every design is made for the specific room. Because we build our own support structures, we are not limited to standard frames or ready-made packages, and we can work with high ceilings, staircases, stages and outdoor spaces.
Our own crew delivers and installs every project. We coordinate with venues, planners, florists and production teams, work around load-in rules and provide a certificate of insurance whenever a venue asks for one. Our structures are free standing and do not damage walls or ceilings.
Where We Work
We are a mobile company and do not have a showroom: we come to your venue. We serve Boston, Cambridge, Newton, Brookline, Somerville, Quincy, Worcester and the rest of Greater Boston, travel across Massachusetts and New England, and work in New York City.
How We Work
Minimum order is from $500 and up in the Boston area and from $1,000 and up in New York City, plus a $100 setup and delivery fee. Every project is quoted individually. Prices are the same on weekdays and weekends. The date is reserved once the deposit is paid.
Our latex balloons are biodegradable, and we never release balloons into the sky. In Boston, next to the ocean, released balloons end up in the water.
In the Press
Mike Liberman was interviewed by Boston Voyager about the company and its work: Meet Mikhail Liberman of WOW! Balloons.
Send us your date, venue and a photo of the space, and we will suggest a design and a price.
