Balloon columns work at any event. There is no occasion where a column is the wrong choice, and there is one situation where columns are clearly better than an arch: a room with a low ceiling. The top of an arch makes a low ceiling feel even lower, while tall, straight columns make the same room look taller.

Standard and organic balloon columns
Standard column. All balloons are the same size, in two, three or four colors. They can be arranged in stripes, in a zebra pattern or in a spiral. This is the simplest and most affordable column.
Organic column. Balloons of different sizes and shades, often combined with foil balloons, arranged in a free, natural shape. The number of possible designs is practically unlimited.
A topper can be added to any column, standard or organic. It can be one large balloon in a matching color, a large balloon with your logo, or a foil balloon in a special shape: a star, a starburst, a number, or a ready made message like Happy Birthday or Baby.
We can also decorate columns that are already part of the building. For one bar mitzvah with a four seasons theme, we wrapped the four structural columns of the hall in balloons and styled each one as a different season.
How tall should a balloon column be?
A column can be any height, from two feet up to 20 or 30 feet. But there is a practical rule. An average adult is five to six feet tall. If a person stands between you and a column that is shorter than they are, the column simply disappears from view.
That is why we recommend columns of seven feet and taller for most events. Short columns of about five feet make sense only in specific places, for example on a stage or next to a small entrance.

A short standard column of about five feet starts at $100.
A standard column up to 10 feet tall costs about $200.
An organic column up to 10 feet costs up to $700, depending on how detailed it is.
Columns taller than 10 feet are priced individually, because the price depends on the height, the venue and the conditions.
Our minimum order in the Boston area is $500. There is no difference in price between weekdays and weekends.
Can balloon columns stand outdoors in wind?
Yes. When we know the column will stand outside, we use heavier bases and guy lines. We have installed columns in downtown Boston, where the wind between high rise buildings is very strong, and everything stayed in place for the whole event.
Can a balloon column be branded?
Yes, in several ways.
Colors. The simplest and most effective way is to build the column in your brand colors.
Logo topper. A large balloon or foil balloon with your logo on top of the column. We can cut the logo out and apply it to the balloon.
Printed balloons. Latex balloons can be ordered with a printed logo. This is often expensive for one event, because printers have a minimum print run, and a column needs only two or three printed balloons. We will tell you honestly when a cut out logo is the better choice.
How long does it take to install balloon columns?
A small project, such as two columns and one arch, can be installed by one person in about two to four hours. Larger projects take longer and need a bigger crew.
